ওয়েব ডেস্ক, বিপ্লবী সব্যসাচী পত্রিকা অনলাইন: খড়্গপুরের সুলতানপুরে টর্নেডোর তান্ডব। ২ মিনিটে লন্ডভন্ড পুরো এলাকা। ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার খড়গপুর লোকাল থানার অন্তর্গত সুলতানপুর এলাকায়। মঙ্গলবার বিকেল ৫ টা নাগাদ বৃষ্টির সাথে সাথে শুরু হয় ঝড়। আর সেই ঝড়েই ভেঙে পড়ে এলাকার ৫০ টিরও বেশি কিছু পুরোনো গাছ। গাছ পড়ে রাস্তায় যান চলাচল বন্ধ হয়ে যায়।

এমনকি স্থানীয় এক ব্যক্তির বাড়ির সিসিটিভিতে গাছ পড়ে ভেঙে যায়। এবং গাছ ভেঙে পড়ায় ইলেকট্রিকের তার মাটিতে ছিঁড়ে পড়ে। ইলেকট্রিক ট্রান্সফরমারও পড়ে যায়। এলাকার লোকেরা প্রশাসনকে খবর দেওয়ার সাথে সাথে নিজেরাই তৎপর হয়ে রাস্তার পড়ে থাকা গাছগুলি উদ্ধারের কাজ শুরু করে। পরে খড়্গপুর ২ নং ব্লকের বিডিও ও পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে উপস্থিত হয়।

ঝড়ের পরেই পুরো এলাকা বিদ্যুৎ হীন হয়ে পড়ে। বেশ কয়েকটি ঘরের ওপর গাছ পড়ে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়। খড়্গপুর লোকাল থানার ওসি গিয়ে মানুষজনের হাতে ত্রিপল ও শুকনো খাওয়ার তুলে দেন। এলাকার উপপ্রধান সেখ মুসলেম জানান,’ আমরা রাত জেগে কাজ করছি। হঠাৎ করে এই ঝড় এসে এলাকায় ব্যাপক ক্ষতি করেছে।’

Web Desk, Biplabi Sabyasachi online paper: A tornado hit Sultanpur in Kharagpur. The whole area of destroyed in 2 minutes. The incident took place in the Sultanpur area under Kharagpur local police station in West Midnapore district. The storm started at 5 pm on Tuesday with heavy rain. And the storm destroyed more than 50 old trees in the area. The trees fell and the traffic was stopped.
Even a tree fell on the CCTV of a local man’s house and broke. And when the tree fell, the electric wire fell to the ground. The electric transformer also fell. As soon as the people of the area informed the administration, they themselves started rescuing the fallen trees from the road. Later, BDO and police of Kharagpur No. 2 block came to the spot.
After the storm, the whole area was without electricity. Several houses were damaged by falling trees. The OC of Kharagpur local police station went and handed over triple and dried food to the people. Sheikh Muslim, the deputy chief of the area, said, ‘We are working at night.
