কেশিয়াড়ীতে গরু নিয়ে খাল পার হতে গিয়ে জলে ডুবে গেলেন বৃদ্ধ

ওয়েব ডেস্ক, বিপ্লবী সব্যসাচী পত্রিকা অনলাইন: খালে জলের তোড়ে ভেসে গেলেন এক বৃদ্ধ। ঘটনাটি পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার কেশিয়াড়ী ব্লকের দীপা এলাকায়। বৃদ্ধের নাম পঞ্চানন পালোই (৬২)। স্থানীয়রা জানান, অন্যান্য দিনের মতো বৃহস্পতিবার গরু নিয়ে খাল পার হতে গিয়েছিলেন ওই বৃদ্ধ। গরু পার হলেও পঞ্চানন পালোই জলের স্রোতে ডুবে যায়।গ্রামেরই পাশ দিয়ে বয়ে গেছে কুসমি খাল। সেই খাল পার হয়ে গ্রামবাসীরা অপরপ্রান্তে মাঠে যান।

বৃহস্পতিবার একই ভাবে গরু পার করানোর সময় জলে তলিয়ে যাওয়ায় ঘটনা ঘটে। সাঁতার না জানার কারনে এই দুর্ঘটনা ঘটেছে বলে স্থানীয়রা জানান। খবর পেয়ে ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছায় সিভিল ডিফেন্সের টিম। প্রায় ঘন্টা তিনেক খোঁজাখুঁজি করার পরেও এখনও পর্যন্ত ওই ব্যক্তির খোঁজ পাওয়া যায় নি। ঘটনাস্থলে হাজির হয় কেশিয়াড়ী থানার পুলিস। শেষ খবর পাওয়া পর্যন্ত বৃদ্ধের দেহ উদ্ধার হয়নি বলে জানা গিয়েছে।

Web Desk, Biplabi Sabyasachi online paper:. An old man was swept away by the water in the canal. The incident took place in Deepa area of Keshiari block of West Midnapore district. The old man’s name is Panchanan Paloi (72). According to the locals, the old man went to cross the canal with cows on Thursday like other days. Even though the cows crossed, Panchanan Paloi drowned in the current of water. Kusmi canal flows by the side of the village. After crossing that canal, the villagers went to the field on the other side.

The incident took place on Thursday when a cow submerge in water while crossing in the same manner. Locals said the accident happened because they did not know how to swim. Upon receiving the news, the civil defense team reached the spot. After searching for about three hours, the person has not been found yet. Police of Keshiari police station appeared at the spot. The body of the old man is not recover till the last news is receive.
